Better Shot Science data representation
Philip Lam
Hi all, we've made improvement on the release time shot graph, indicate miss shot with blue color so now you can tell the differences in your release time between make/miss shots.
It's indeed the idea from Joel Chong and Khor Loke Yew
Cory Inman
Philip Lam: Awesome! Have the different colors for makes vs misses been applied to all of the shot science data? Also can the app process and plot the data from past sessions in this make vs miss format?
Khor Loke Yew
Philip Lam: Wow! Thanks. This is great. Would be great if we can get a numerical average (e.g.) release angle for makes vs missed (.e.g 49% vs 40% etc.) as well. Thanks again.
Joel Chong
Philip Lam: oh that's cool. I can see some hot and cold streaks now!
Philip Lam
Cory Inman:
Right, it's already supported in all Shot Science charts :).
I believe that would be reflected in past sessions too, please let me know if you see otherwise.
Philip Lam
Khor Loke Yew: Good suggestion, let me bring it to the product group.
Cory Inman
Philip Lam: yeah totally agree that some overall stats that splits by hit vs miss would be super helpful in convincing me to make sure I get a higher angle and or different release time. Thanks for making my favorite app! I recommend it every chance I get!

This needs to be added immmediately please ! For example today I want to work on my mid range game so I do a shooting workout working on different mid range moves /shots (example one dribble pull up, Jordan fadeaway etc) I finish the workout and tag it as mid range workout I would love then if I could tag the moves individual so I get to tag the Jordan fade-away etc and then when I’m watching the shooting workout back the Jordan fade-away is wrote at the bottom and I would like if the moves like one dribble pull up and Jordan fadeaway were represented on a chart name of move on the x -axis and numbers of shots and makes in the y - axis ( would also like an all time chart for this please)

Also, I think court location should be tracked with shot science to see trends. For example, more arc might be needed on a double rim and less arc might be needed outside if there is wind

I think a key component to this is the ability to only view shot science for a particular grouping of shots practicing the same move.
ShotType might be useful as a rough classifier, but it has issues and it might be better if the user could somehow select the shots in the group. One of the main issues is that ShotType is often wrong. For example, if I spin the ball out to myself to simulate a catch and shoot, HomeCourt classifies it as off the dribble

Yees! One of the graphs isn’t well labelled on the bottom. I think it’s shot distance on the x axis?
Philip Lam
Joel Chong: It is your "Shot Number"
Joel Chong
Yes please! Angle of release and shot release with filters and/or different colours for makes and misses! That sounds like an easy feature that would be sooooo much more useful!

Merged in a post:
Differentiate between made and missed shot where release angle or time is tracked
Justin Scott
Where a particular aspect of a shot is tracked h
(Release angle, release time etc.) it would be great for the bar graphs to differentiate between missed and made shots (eg orange bar for made, blue for missed).
