Kids do not play for percentages, they play for points. While showing shot percentage is valuable, showing the points per shooting session is a great value as well. I only use the shot tracking to build shooting performance and the Shooting gun. Having the kids see the number of points at the end of a shooting round, says to the player that if you can shoot at a certain percentage of jump shots, this is your potential points. if I add in layups, its all the same. Lasty, I do a 3 set 25 shot bench mark shooting routine as a shooting percent process. 3 rounds of 25 shots each will gives them a create idea of their overall shooting performance.
